Austin ISD is facing challenging budget decisions. School consolidation starting in the 2026-27 school year will support our goal of a stable budget and ensure all students are in the best possible learning environments. School consolidation is defined as the merging of one or more schools into one school through a process of boundary changes, facility closure, and/or facility repurposing. 

The district wants this process to reflect our community's priorities. District leaders and the Board of Trustees are seeking feedback from caregivers, staff, and community members. Feedback will be used to create guiding principles for the consolidation process.
